Which syncX: SKU & Barcode Scan update method should I use?

Modified on Thu, 7 Aug at 11:03 AM

syncX: SKU & Barcode Scan offers five efficient methods for updating product inventory:

1. Increment

Increases the quantity of a product when scanned or entered.
You can set the desired quantity before scanning to avoid repeating scans.

Example: Instead of scanning a product 4 times, set the quantity to 4 and scan once.

2. Decrement

Decreases the quantity of a product when scanned or entered.
Similar to Increment, simply preset the quantity to reduce.

Example: To decrease stock by 4, set the quantity to 4 and scan once.

3. Show Quantity

Displays the current stock level of a product without changing it.
When you scan or enter a barcode, the product quantity appears in the Session section.

This method is view-only and does not modify stock levels.

4. Set Quantity

Directly updates the stock level of a product to the quantity you input.

Example: If the stock is currently 50 and you set it to 5, the new stock level becomes 5.

5. Shift

Moves the stock of a product from one location to another.
If the product doesn’t exist at the destination, it will be automatically created there.

Example: You can also shift stock to a fulfillment location, which will transfer all stock to that location.

Additional Notes:

  • After each transaction, the quantity automatically resets to 1.

  • The most recently used method will be set as the default update method for your next scan.
